I decided i was going to do something good for the SEO community... i wanted a SEO plugin that wouldn't just show some page data it would pull all of it and practically do your work for you. With social media the new craze I wanted a way to quickly tell if a page was going viral and show all the page meta data and tag elements without having to look at the pages source... what came out of this was SEO Site Tools extension for Chrome it pulls data from all over and are seperated into 5 sections: External Page Data, Page Elements, Social Media, Page Terms, Server / Domain Info, and Suggestions but not only that it enhances some common SEO related tools like Google Webmaster tools, Yahoo site explorer and Google analytics. So lets get into the many features my plugin provides and how it can help you with your search engine optimization...Click to watch the demo video
Privacy Policy
This plugin does not collect any web history or site data... i had to use a few scripts i wrote on my servers but they dont save any data on the urls they analyze... if anyone is interested i can provide the source code for the script... i have plans in the future to do some opt-in tracking of usage of sections of the tool to see how i can progressively load important pieces first and wait to load others when they are needed... the data collected would be used to help provide a better user experience and would contain no history of sites visited or analyzed and would contain no personally identifying information.
External Page Data shows domain metrics link links and rank
- Linking to page and domain from Yahoo
- Page links, trust and domain trust from SeoMoz
- Alexa popularity (with graph) links
- Google index date and PageRank along with domain trends
- Dmoz listing
- SEM Rush Data
- Bing Cache Date
- Compete.com data
- Bing indexed pages
- Yahoo index pages
Social Media pulls shares and bookmarks from a number of places
- Page Diggs and Domain Diggs
- Recent tweets about the page along with total number of tweets
- Facebook shares, likes and comments
- Reddit points
- Stumble Upon Views
- Buzz Shares
- Delicious bookmarks
Page Terms displays relevant page elements to SEO
- Meta Robots
- Meta Description
- Canonical URL
- Anchor tags and follow attribute
- Header tags (H1-H5)
- Bold/Strong
- I/Em
- Meta Keywords
- Page HTTP headers
Suggestions compiles a list of on-page SEO suggestions about title tag, links on page , meta description, img alt tags,GZip Compression, meta keywords (hey it can’t hurt)
Page Terms (still a work in progress) performs term extraction and lets you do keyword research with Google’s keyword research tool
It also has ability to enhance Google Webmaster Tools with links anchor text, if they are followed links and mozRank (or PageRank) of linking pages
Adds Social media reactions to Google Analytics page details with Facebook shares, likes and comments as well as Delicious bookmarks and Diggs
It also adds the link and anchor text info to Yahoo Site Explorer with mozRank (or PageRank)
Heres the install link for SEO Site Tools in case you missed it above
It is still being developed so I would love any feedback you could give me on it… bother me on twitter or in the comments here and ill do my best to add any features or fix any bugs you may find

Just downloaded the Chrome extension. At first glance it is very strong. Nice job.
Thanks.
Just been upgraded to latest version and I have to say I am very impressed. Thanks for all your hard work its much appreciated.
very cool tool
Great extension! I've only encountered one minor problem. When I go to www.google.com and search for something I get a broken image next to each of the results. Turning off "Enhance Google SERPs with PageRank" fixes the issue. But then I don't get to see the PageRank for each link. I'm running Chrome on Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
Thanks again for the awesome tool!
yea im dealing with an issue with the image that pulls the pagerank... you can turn it off in the options and ill have it fixed soon :)
Not only a brilliant tool, but beautiful!
Is there a risk of being banned by Google with "Enhance Google SERPs with PageRank" turned on and polling too frequently?
First thanks for noticing the time i took to fix a problem im not supposed to be solving... programmatic requests to pull PageRank are against Google's TOS... but they are not updating pagerank on any frequent basis and volume from one user is not much more than a high volume web surfer. I wrote mine so it cycles through the datacenters it polls to distribute the load (unlike seoquake does)... i struggled with the decision to add the feature to the tool, at first i was only requesting pagerank on a page by page basis much the way the google toolbar was and my thought was i would remove it if they asked... i was originally adding pagerank to SERPs from another sites service so my tool was not the one actually pulling PR... based on what i saw from other extensions i decided to add the feature and will cross that bridge when i come to it. im going to be changing the way it pulls pagerank so it can be done on a case by case basis and isnt polling every SERP returned
So, dunno why I was only getting the top 5 PRs on the Google SERP, but after hasn't been a prob since. I think what I noticed was the polling delay (to keep my IP from being banned). Anyway, lovin' it!
Love this tool, but I've been having it crash the last two days after the update? any thoughts?
great extension! a questions, does it send any info to any server? I haven't found any word about Privacy on the page :(
thats an excellent question... ill add a paragraph above see this Privacy Policy
privacy in chrome extensions is a big concern for me (ill explain more in a post when i get back from honeymoon) and im working to make the plugin more efficient and stable while adding features that users will find useful... you can talke to me more and i can explain source code of the plugin @cartercole thats linked to pretty much all my profile you should be able to find me :)
How does it work? It's just added a button to my toolbar that does absolutely nothing! How do I get all these stats to appear??
Great extension! Our whole office is installing it. One question: Under the Dmoz listing, what does it mean when it says "Has Description"?? I can't for the life of me figure out what that means, and i've been doing SEO for many years lol. Thanks!
yea i need to add more details... when dmoz listing is returned by the Alexia API it tells me how many listings along with the description for the listing... if there is no listing but something has been submitted for the description it will show "has description" i plan to modify it soon to show the description that has been submitted
I wrote a review in german, you can find it here:
http://chromeextensions.de/google_infos/seo-site-tools/
:-)
awesome! i need to get translation started ive seen people using it in almost every language you can think of and i want to improve multi-lingual support
why is the pagerank symbol sometimes green and sometimes red?
i really need to get the documentation written... green means it found the domain level pagerank and red means is it returning the actual pages pagerank. so new pages without data will probably be green
I am very impressed with this tool. Good job does not cover it.
This is my new favorite SEO plugin - for ANY browser - hands-down. Just like Chrome, it is super fast! You have cut many of my routine "quick and dirty" research activities in half. Thank you so much, SEO Site Tools ROCKS!!
Its a great plugin, really useful. Google's Webmaster guidelines state that it doesn't like certain Apps that call on its servers resources for SEO data.
Can we be sure that it is acceptable to the search engines, to have this plugin scan every site, and more importantly augment the control panel for Google WebM tools, yahoo site Ex etc.
Don't want to rock the boat with them as my site is new, seems to be sandboxed, and I just wondered if the plugin scans my site too often with this tool, will it have any adverse effect on my rankings etc?
first the plugin only "scans" a page when you click the tool... the only thing that runs on every page is rank check. I was thought a long time about including it and after checking what other tools did i decided to include it... most are public apis for pulling data and have no history... and google has no way of seeing that you have an augmented display. I dont believe I am providing a tool that is harmful or taxing to any of the api that are used and the volume in which it is done is trivial. if they ask me to change functionality I will but it seems to be a case of "pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered"
Carter you brilliant SOB! Putting demographics in the SERPS is just another example of why SEO Site Tools is the best Chrome Extension ever!
yea its lame the api broke... i think it was the volume of like over 16+k users all doing searches
Nice extension, I mentioned it my post.:)
